So there’s a second ad out now with Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates. Yes, I’m a petty enough Mac fanatic to refrain from embedding the YouTube video. You can watch it here. This one’s kinda amusing. The first one took me a few times to watch before I even got the point of what was going on. Is this your big toe? No, leather… ???
I guess Microsoft’s trying to make Bill Gates out to be an regular guy — a little eccentric perhaps, like Albert Einstein, and not exactly average, but an all around good and decent fellow. And, gee whiz, if Bill Gates is a sweetie pie, then maybe the company he founded isn’t a convicted monopolist that eats up companies and spits them out for breakfast after all. We mustn’t judge the poor man…he just wanted to connect billions of people and make the world a better place. Can’t we give ol’ MS an all-American second chance?
Keep those ads coming, Microsoft. They’re good for a laugh, and I’ll enjoy watching them on my Apple MacBook. I suspect an 8% and growing percentage of the home computer market using Macs will also get a kick out of them. Oh, and that Vista thing? Good luck with that.
Over and out.
