I’ve not been feeling well for a while (still getting over a nasty flu) and have had a lot on my plate, but I need to get back in the blogging game, so I’ll start by pointing your way towards an excellent overview of the theological issue of speaking in tongues and what that means on a practical level today. Despite the egregious abuse of tongues within some segments of the church, I am a firm believer in its proper and Biblical use and in its multi-fold benefit to the believer. I received the gift of tongues when I was water baptized in late 2006, and because I treasure it as a marvelous expression of my born-again spirit and the Holy Spirit operating within me, it grieves me when I see it maligned or misunderstood.
So if you are curious to know more about the origin and reason for the gift of speaking in tongues, please check out the above-mentioned article. You’ll be glad you did.
