Well, it’s 5pm, and I’m tired. I got a bunch of freelance work done today in my home office (i. e., sofa), for which I am quite grateful. Let’s see, what’s going on around here…
Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard will launch in less than ONE HOUR!!! Woo hoo!!! (Only bad thing is that I ordered the family pack from Amazon which won’t show up until Monday. Bummer.)
Found this cool post from April that talked about the kind of transforming, life-changing power that can only be found in a vibrant relationship with Jesus. I never get tired of thinking about how wonderful Jesus is, and how amazing it is to know Him!
Very fascinating article by Rick Warren on the different worldviews to which Christianity has to provide a counter-narrative in order to have an impact on our world. I think most Christians are unaware just how much of a barrier it can be for people to believe in Jesus when their preconceived worldviews are diametrically opposed to message of the Gospel. It’s not that these people are anti-Christian, it’s that Christianity (to them) makes no sense. Get to the root issues of worldview, and you have a chance to wade through that fog of hostile narrative.
Earlier this month, I wrote a blog post that identified the need to challenge and inspire young people in the church and get them to think BIG. It’s neat to see that a very influential church pastor just so happens to agree with me.
And finally, this is an old story, but apparently some scientists are now speculating that it’s highly probable that we’re living in a virtual reality world, and some kid in the “real world” is just running us as a computer simulation for fun, perhaps as a science project for school. We’ve been cautioned not to create a gigantic earth-sized message saying “We figured it out! We’re in a virtual reality world! Nyaa nyaa nyaa!” for fear that the kid might get upset and press the “Stop” button. Well, I suppose that wouldn’t be all bad — at least the “Britney Spears” news cycle would finally be over.
