I believe 2007 is a year of victory for God’s people. I felt it strongly in the beginning of this year, and I specifically had a premonition that stuff was really going to start popping in August. Many of the prophetic voices I trust had a lot to say about this year on the topic, about how we were going to start reclaiming territory in our lives that the enemy had stolen and that we would stop playing defense and start playing offense.
All of this has proved to be true so far in my life and the lives of the people around me, and I see such a huge upswing in momentum among the Church in general, particularly as I hear about the mass prayer gatherings such as The Call in Nashville that went on in July. We’re in a season of Kingdom expansion as we humble ourselves and pray with fervor and seek God for the huge dreams He’s giving us to pursue.
At the same time, however, the enemy is hard on our heels. I also know that in my life and the lives of the people around me and in our local church, people are getting hit hard. It’s so easy to give into the temptations of fear, discouragement, doubt, and anxiety as problems come up with finances, family, career, health, etc. Once you get focused on that stuff, your God-given, indwelling ability to stand firm as an overcomer in Christ drops precipitately. Set your mind on the things above, the Bible says. We must possess the mind of Christ so we can see everything going on around us from His eternal perspective.
No matter how hard things get, remember, you are stepping out in faith. You are on the offensive. You are taking territory for God. You are an overcomer. You are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. You are walking in blessing and have a host of angels at your back. It it only with this identity that we can accomplish great deeds; don’t let your flesh or the schemes of the devil get in the way of your powerful love relationship with God through His Holy Spirit. Love covers a multitude of sins, casts out fear, and rejoices in the Truth. Abide in the love of Christ, and I believe for you to be victorious.
