Today I discovered that everything I knew about atheism is wrong. Apparently, all honest, enlightened, and throughly reasonable people can’t help but be atheists. Religious people are, of course, deluded, unscientific, and completely unable to substantiate any of their beliefs or spiritual claims. How do I know this?
Sam Harris: Mythbuster.
Read this essay by the man himself and you too will become an atheist. What’s that you say? You’ve read it and discovered it hardly talks about the merits of atheism whatsoever and instead simply attacks weak stereotypes of religion and spirituality? No no no, perish the thought! You must clear your mind of any such romantic notions as the idea that atheism must be explained and proved within the confines of rigorous philosophical debate and the deep elements of personal experience. Face it: atheism is the default position. Everyone is born an atheist! Nothing needs to be proved. It’s the dogmatic religious folk who need to explain why a higher power does exist and why there’s something beyond the realm of the natural.
(Just between you and me however, we’ll dismiss off-hand any such intellectual posturing or even so-called evidence if it does come up because — after all — who wants to believe in a higher power that might hold us accountable to our actions when we have our own feelings and desires to exalt?)
Onward Atheist Soldiers!

Well put.
Can’t say that I’m much of an activist but we have to start putting our heads, and blogs, together on this kind of thing.
I have offered my contributions in a blog entitled “Sam Harris - Myth Buster or Myth Maker?”
May God richly bless him.
