Yeah, so if you’ve been getting really sick of seeing the same silly pictures over on my Flickr sidebar widget for months, you’ve been given a reprieve!
Seriously, though, here’s the deal: when I was adjusting the color and brightness on some of the images in my collection when I launched this blog in January, I had Adobe Lightroom set to full screen with all of the backgrounds dark. Since my iMac screen’s pretty bright, that meant that the photos seemed very vivid and vibrant (any light compared to darkness seems vivid!).
Then the photos got up on Flickr, and I took one long and went Ewww! Everything looked muddy and dull. So I went back to Lightroom and changed the background behind the photo to a light textured grey, which helped my color perception a lot.
But why did it take so long for me to update the photos once I knew how to fix the problem? Call it the “piled up” brain bug. I kept wanting to upload new photos to Flickr, but I also wanted to update the old photos, but I also wanted to spend my free time working on some other projects…and so, it just piled up.
But I’m good to go now, and I have a bunch more photos in my collection to put up, so expect to see more progress on that front soon!
