I blogged a prayer for the British soldiers held hostage by the Iranians a few days back, asking God to take care of them and bring peace to this situation. It was starting to seem like an escalated military conflict was a definite possibility, and though I’m by no means a pacifist, I felt like the most appropriate response for this was prayer for a diplomatic resolution.
I’m not claiming by any means that my one prayer caused this outcome — I’m sure many thousands of people were praying — but I was so overjoyed today to read that Ahmadinejad is pardoning the soldiers and will be releasing them to the British embassy shortly.
Thank you God for intervening in this matter and melting hard hearts in order to accomplish your purpose. I ask for blessing on these British men and women as they return to their homes and families, and I also ask for a greater move of your Spirit in Iran that will begin to transform that society for the better. I pray for peace in the Middle East and revelation of your truth to go forth into all the lands.
Hallelujah!
