When it’s better to kill

I just read this story about the brouhaha surrounding a German zoo’s handling of a polar bear cub, and all I could do is shake my head in dismay. Some animal rights activists think the cub would be better off dead than raised by humans apart from its mother! Yes, you read right: it’s better for us to kill an animal than “abuse” it by taking care of it when Mother Bear refused to do so.

That’s what you get when you go down the road of an evolutionary worldview. The real truth here is that all, I repeat, ALL animals were at one time “domesticated”. The whole concept of a “wild” animal is a phenomenon tied to the fall of man and the subsequent degeneration of the natural order that was said by God to be “very good” in its original created state. Animals and humans were both vegetarian and had perfect, peaceful, and harmless relations in the Garden of Eden. And we still see vestiges of that today: I’ve read quite a few stories about so-called wild animals being raised by humans and learning to live in a peaceful, controlled environment. There are even stories of natural predators and prey who became close friends when raised together in an artificial setting — kind of like the cartoon movie “Madagascar” if you know what I mean.

In Heaven, the lion lies down with the lamb. On earth, it was originally this way. Only an evolutionary mindset considers such things to be abnormal.
