Am I the only one who finds this scenario deeply disturbing? Not the fact that teens are having sex — no news there — but the fact that motherhood, pregnancy, and the loss of virginity at age 14 are so cavalierly mishandled and morally dismissed in Western society. Shouldn’t we be celebrating these aspects of femininity as the sacred, beautiful, life-changing gifts they are? At what point did motherhood get so devalued?
