One way you know that God is moving powerfully in your life is when you receive prophecy from different sources that really resonate within you and confirm that which you already suspected or believed. It can be a prophetic utterance from someone operating in the Spirit, or it can be a word or phrase in the Bible, another book, movie, something someone mentions to you, an opportunity that suddenly arises…whatever. God works in many ways, and they really aren’t all the mysterious once you learn how to identify them. As you grow in the Spirit and walk more closely with God, you can ask for discernment to see what the Lord is trying to say to you from these various sources. It can happen in a short span of time, or it can happen over week, months, even years.

The important thing to remember is this: God is only limited by your limited understanding of God. To be sure, He has the ability to come alongside and shatter your subdued expectations, but most of the time He’s simply waiting for you to expect Him to show up. As my friend Chris Smith likes to say, God is not a dictator. He will not force himself upon you against your will. You have to allow Him to move in your life. Don’t miss out on the divine blessings He has stored up for you by limiting him based on your fears — because perfect love casts out fear! (1 John 4:18)
